Apple is reportedly working on a unified system in iOS 19 that could enable users to log into public Wi-Fi networks through a single device and have those credentials instantly sync across all other Apple products, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
The functionality is said to eliminate the repeated manual input typically required when connecting to hotel, office, or gym networks on multiple Apple devices. Instead, users might only need to complete the login process once—on their iPhone, for instance—and that access data could automatically carry over to their iPad or Mac, enhancing cross-device connectivity.
The feature was detailed in Gurman’s Power On newsletter, where he noted it is under active development. It may emerge as a practical tool for those who rely on public Wi-Fi across different Apple hardware. With the usual captive portal system requiring logins on each individual device, this improvement could save time and effort.
The Wi-Fi syncing system is just one of several updates anticipated with the rollout of iOS 19. Apple is also expected to introduce a refreshed user interface with influences from the Apple Vision Pro’s immersive UI elements. Alongside cosmetic adjustments, deeper integration of Apple Intelligence—a suite of AI-powered features—into core apps and services is also on the table.
Meanwhile, iPadOS may receive upgrades that align its multitasking and productivity tools more closely with macOS capabilities. This suggests a push to blur the lines between iPad and Mac workflows, potentially increasing utility for professional users.
Apple’s next major announcements are likely to be revealed at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025, which kicks off on June 9. The five-day developer-focused event is expected to include the official unveiling of iOS 19, macOS upgrades, and other firmware enhancements for the Apple ecosystem.
Apple is also reported to be working on new silicon chips intended for Mac systems and AI server applications. Another rumor hints at AI-based search capabilities being built into the Safari browser, potentially offering users smarter and more context-aware browsing tools.
While not confirmed, industry insiders suggest that foldable screen developments may be in progress, with Apple possibly using displays from Samsung that outperform those in the Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
